Tupperpalooza Weekend……August 4th & 5th

Have you marked your calendar for this brand new summer classic? The Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce has been working on a brand new summer event that is sure to bring smiles to the faces of young and old alike!  So…..do us a big favor….plan on attending Tupperpalooza on August 4th & 5th so you don’t miss:

Admission for Tupperpalooza is Free. We will be selling tickets for $1.00 each for games/activities which will be priced accordingly. Seaplane rides and cardboard boat regatta race will be priced separately.

10th Mountain Division Army Band is based out of Fort Drum, NY and is Commanded and conducted by Chief Warrant Officer Two Timothy F. Wallace.  The Band has recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where they performed throughout Afghanistan for U.S. military and Coalition forces from over 35 nations.  These professional Soldier-Musicians are trained and ready to deploy anywhere in the world.

Stateside, the musicians of the 10th Mountain Division Band provide a wide range of musical entertainment for the Soldiers, as well as for the citizens of the North Country.  In addition to Marching and Ceremonial Band, the 10th Mountain Band can also field an array of diverse performing groups such as: Rock Band, Jazz Combo, Dixieland Band and Brass Quintet.

We invite you to come to Tupper Lake for the entire weekend! August 3rd in Flanders Park-The Adirondack Lakes Summer Theatre Festival’s 2012 Shakespeare in the Adirondack Park production will be the magical Tempest. A Native American drum circle, complete with headdresses, drumming, and dance brings to life one of Shakespeare’s most fantastical plays; featuring comedic sailors, young lovers and a magical battle for the character’s very souls! Join us as the bard takes to the bark in the Adirondack’s annual summer tradition. Show starts at 7pm and admission is FREE!

August 4th activities will take place at the Tupper Lake Municipal Park from approximately 2pm-10pm.  The Warrior Run on August 5th will take place at the Big Tupper Ski Area. See details below.

  Tupperpalooza Cardboard Boat Regatta!

Close your eyes….Imagine yourself gliding along the Lake with the wind in your hair….Captain of your cardboard craft! Let your imagination go WILD at the 1st Annual “Tupperpalooza Cardboard Boat Regatta.”Looking for a family activity or a way to promote your business? This Regatta has something for everyone! Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come and cheer for their favorite team.

The objective of this race is to design a boat made of cardboard that will float with people in it and to have a lot of fun in the process! $100.00 prizes will be awarded to (1) Race Winner-Fastest Team (2) Team with the most team spirit and (3) Most creative boat. Three  judges will be chosen to judge this exciting event.

Date & Time: Saturday-August 4th. 2pm-?  Drop the boats off at 2pm, judging starts at 3pm, race begins at 4pm.

Location: Tupper Lake Municipal Park, Tupper Lake, NY

Cost: $25-You can register a pre-built the day of the race!  We will also be allowing people to build a boat the day of the race.  We will supply the materials (cardboard and duct tape).  We will charge $30.00 to build a boat on race day.  These boats participate in a separate race from the pre-built race.

Team Registration: Completed registration & payment must be returned to the Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce located at 121 Park Street, Tupper Lake, NY 12986.  A guardian must sign waiver of liability the day of the event if you are less than 18 years of age.
