In late June children will be able to take part in a unique new event in town. The first ever Paintball Triathlon will take place on Sunday, J
une 24 at Little Wolf beach. The event consists of swimming, biking, running and paintball shooting.
The mass start will begin at 2pm with a 75-yard swim in the waters of Little Wolf Pond. Once complete it’s time to hop on bicycles and begin a 1.8 mile trek down North Little Wolf Road and back, where it is then off to the running course. Athletes will complete a half mile run to the transfer station and back where it is then time for some paintball action. Each participant will be given five shots at stationary targets. Every successful hit deducts 10-seconds off their total time.
The race is open to all athletes age seven to 14. Bike helmets are mandatory. Each participant will be given a goodie bag and awards will be handed out to first, second and third place finishers.
This event coincides with the official opening of the beach for the season and marks the beginning of other family events planned for the campground this summer.
Registration is available by picking up a form at the town hall or you can download one here. Registration is also available the day of the event. Race fee is $5. For more information contact Mike at 359-8370.
