Chamber Business Spotlight: Sootbusters expands to Treebusters

Sootbusters LLC of Tupper Lake is proud to announce its recent expansion with a sister company Treebusters.

“It only fit,” says owner Michael J. Vaillancourt, who bought out Sootbusters in 2007. “We have all the equipment already. Why not be as diverse as possible?”
Mike has hundreds and hundreds of danger trees under his belt since 2007. He has always been interested in doing trees since he bought his first bucket truck. “I guess it was in my blood,” he said.

Mike’s father, Don Vaillancourt, was a lineman for the Village of Tupper Lake for 30 years. Mr. Vaillancourt has a lot of years of valuable experience which he has passed on to Mike. Mike also went out and received formal training in the field with Game of Logging courses to help learn more about the tree cutting process. He has never formally advertised for trees, he just got all of his work word of mouth, averaging approximately 50-60 danger tree jobs a year, so now he decided to go full throttle and try to make a go of it.

Tree Busters brings to the table a 55’ 4×4 bucket truck with a 2000# work jib and 20 ton front winch. Treebusters also uses a 50 yard grapple self- loading dump truck to pick up the trees the fastest safest way possible.

Treebusters has a lot of equipment at its disposal from its brother company, but the bucket truck and the grapple dump truck are the two most common pieces of equipment that you will see at his job sites. “We can handle any of your danger tree needs, lot clearing, brush pickup, and stump removal.”
Mike says he likes the mechanical advantage of equipment anytime he can use it but if you do not have room for their equipment, its not a problem. They have tree climbers available to climb the tree and rope everything down if need be.

Mike plans on growing the business over the next few years and buying more equipment to reach higher and get jobs done faster and safer. Treebusters is fully insured and offers free estimates. You can contact their office at 359-9765 or e-mail them at Tltreebusters@gmail.com
