Draft Tupper Lake Revitalization Strategy and Action Plan to be Discussed

The Town and Village of Tupper Lake will host a public workshop on Thursday, May 24, 2012. The workshop will run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Goff-Nelson Memorial Library at 41 Lake Street.

Calling all Tupper Lake businesses…..We are looking for businesses to help sell tickets, distribute registration forms and act as a drop off location for donations, forms, etc. It’s a great way to get more customers in the door! While promoting our upcoming events/activities we will promote your business in our advertising as a location where these items can be picked up!

Since 1981, Tupper Lake, NY has been THE place to be the second weekend of July. The Annual Tupper Lake Woodsmen’s Days parade brings thousands together along the 2 mile route to celebrate with outrageous floats, colorful costumes and plenty of candy!

First Stop! Tupper Lake…..May 18th

On Friday, May 18th from 3pm-6pm Next Stop! Tupper Lake will welcome The Adirondack Scenic Railroad train as it makes it way back to the Tupper Lake Train Depot from it’s winter vacation in Utica. This special event continues to kick off the efforts to restore the rail line between Tuper Lake & Saranac Lake, which will pave the way for restored rail service between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid.

Community Garden spaces are now available!

Space is still available at the Tupper Lake Community Garden. The cost to lease a plot is $25 for the season or $12.50 for seniors and students.
The Community Garden began in 2008 as a space for children attending the town run day camp to learn about gardening and its importance. Since that time it has expanded, growing to 16 plots, (pun intended), and furnished with storage shed, compost bin and deer-proof fencing, thanks to a generous grant received from the North Country Healthy Heart Network.

Literacy Volunteers of Essex/Franklin Counties needed

Literacy volunteers is a charitable organization whose mission is to enable people (primarily adults) to achieve their personal goals through literacy. For more than 25 years LV have provided basic literacy, English-as-a-second language, G.E.D. preparation and family literacy programs.
